From the 1986 edition of A Guide to Birding in Oklahoma published by the Tulsa Audubon Society. This account has been updated as of 2007.

This is a large urban park on Yale Ave. between 51 St. S. and 61 St. S. A heavily used walking path through wooded and park areas surrounds a golf course. Despite the many people using the park, a variety birds can be found here. Yellow-crowned Night-herons are found in the ponds at the northeast corner of the park and throughout the golf course. The Night-herons nest in the surrounding residential areas.
